#FukuFighters International Weekly News Round Up 04.26.2019

#FukuFighters show up to do the work because we've been here since the beginning.  If we're going to create a positive end together, we have to take things step-by-step:
STEP 1 EDUCATE & SAFEGUARD
33 years after the nuclear catastrophe at #Chernobyl, the fallout from the disinfomation lives on as we try to piece together the truths about what really happened there:

STEP 2 EVACUATE #FUKUSHIMA NOW
Did you know that the Japanese government has a policy in place to ‘reuse’ the contaminated soil from #Fukushima decontamination efforts in agricultural and municipal projects?  Luckily the Friends of the Earth in Japan are standing against the effort, let’s stand with them:

STEP 3 CONTROL & CONTAIN
When Trump and Abe get together during #Chernobyl week, they’d rather play golf than talk about fixing #FukushimaDaiichi:

STEP 4 NUCLEAR POWER IS OVER
One thing I love more than hearing that another decrepit nuclear plant has shut down is hearing that another will never be built!  Say good night Sinop in Turkey!

#FukuFighters International Weekly News Round Up 04.19.2019

Between the 33rd anniversary of the #Chernobyl nuclear disaster and all the latest from #Fukushima, there's a lot to get caught up on for you this week.  No stress though, just take things step-by-step:
 
STEP 1 EDUCATE & SAFEGUARD
33 years after the #Chernobyl disaster began, the fallout has had long-reaching effects and this is only the beginning:

STEP 2 EVACUATE #FUKUSHIMA NOW
For the first time in 6 years, Prime Minister Abe visited #Fukushima for a PR photo op showing he “cares” about regional reconstruction and how things are going at the stricken plant (when nothing could be further from the truth)

STEP 3 CONTROL & CONTAIN
TEPCO is hiring!  If you have Japanese language skills and a desire to work in the lucrative nuclear industry in Japan as a clean up worker or cafeteria helper, check the link below!
Good luck with that clean up job though, TEPCO isn’t sure they can even get that done:

STEP 4 NUCLEAR POWER IS OVER
This study clearly shows which direction nuclear power is heading in - waste management and decommissioning is on the upswing:

The mainstream media is always quick to point out that “no one has died” because of #FukushimaRadiation but is that really true?  This French analysis points out that while you can technically say that, thousands of died as a result of neglect or suicide or stresses related to #Fukushima.  Turn on your translator and read for yourself:

There are lots of reasons why General Electric doesn’t want to get dragged into court over their negligence in the #FukushimaNuclearDisaster so ducking the Operation Tomodachi lawsuit was a big deal for them (screw the U.S. Navy!)
